Position: Middle School Theater Program Advisor

Season: August 2026 to November 2026

Compensation: $3,899 for the season (no additional benefits)

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and background in theater arts, directing, acting, stage production, or related fields.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with school staff, families, and community members.
  • Must meet all district employment requirements and background check standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct middle school theatrical productions.
  • Coordinate auditions, casting, rehearsals, and performances.
  • Teach and develop fundamental theater skills, including acting, stage presence, and performance techniques.
  • Oversee production elements such as costumes, props, sets, lighting, and sound, as appropriate.
  • Promote student participation and encourage a positive theater experience for all students.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, families, school administrators, and staff.
  • Develop and manage rehearsal schedules and performance timelines.
  • Ensure student safety and appropriate supervision during all theater-related activities.
  • Assist with fundraising and budget management as needed.
  • Represent the school and theater program in a professional manner.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to actively move around
  • Endurance to remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of equipment up to 30 pounds
  • Clear communication and the ability to project your voice
