The Scarsdale Public Schools seeks a talented, experienced, and innovative educator to serve as a 0.6 FTE Spanish Teacher at Scarsdale Middle School.
Scarsdale Middle School serves approximately 1,100 students in grades 68 and offers a rich and rigorous educational program for a high-achieving student population. The school community is distinguished by an accomplished faculty and staff, engaged and supportive families, and a strong commitment to the developmental needs of early adolescents. The Middle School fosters a challenging, nurturing, and intellectually vibrant learning environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching world languages at the middle school level, a commitment to student-centered instruction, and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging classroom community. Candidates must hold appropriate New York State certification.

Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the teacher will facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district-approved curriculum; assessing and monitoring student progress; addressing individual learning needs; and creating a flexible, safe, and supportive learning environment. The teacher will also maintain regular communication with students, families, and administrators regarding student progress and expectations.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
