Position Details

Principal Essential Duties And Responsibilities: (May not include all tasks employee may be expected to perform.)

Interpret the policies of the Board of Education as they relate to student and staff management and instructional programs

Maintain Confidentiality

Be responsible for all student education and activities in the classroom.

Ensure 6-8 Curriculum is aligned to the State of Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations.

Evaluation of all staff members

Selects a diverse interview team and serves as interview chairman for any openings in the building and makes hiring recommendations to the Superintendent.

Classify and promotion of all students.

Be involved in the budget development and approval for all building General fund line items and allocated State and Federal Funds.

Implement instructional programs of all general education, including special education, pilot and Grant programs.

Be responsible for the purchase and distribution of building instructional resources identified in the budget.

Develop public relations and promotional information as it relates to the building.

Coordinate and provide in-house professional development for all classroom teachers and para-educators.

Oversee non-instructional and instructional staff assigned to the building including substitutes and student teachers.

Establish a master schedule as it relates to assignments of teachers and paraprofessionals.

Supervise student conduct outside the classroom.

Monitor student attendance.

Monitor cafeteria and recess of students along with assigned staff.

Respond to all employee requests including, but not limited to: leaves, conferences, overtime and purchase orders.

Assist in the coordination of support services including special education, mentors, State and Federal Services, School Counseling Services, and Specials teachers.

Maintain the student records at the building level.

Work with building staff to coordinate all school-related student services such as field trips, after-school and summer school programs in the building.

Shall work with the Athletic Director to coordinate events with the middle school schedule.

Shall attend a majority of extra-curricular activities for middle school students and staff

Serve as a referral agent and liaison person for all outside agencies providing support services to students.

Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.

K-12 Curriculum Director Essential Duties And Responsibilities: (May not include all tasks employee may be expected to perform.)

Coordinate the Five Essential Components of MTSS Practice: Team-Based Leadership, Tiered Delivery System, Selection and Implementation of Instruction, Interventions and Supports, Comprehensive Screening and Assessment System, Continuous Data-Based Decision Making.

Utilize internal and external resources to continually evaluate and improve K-12 Curriculum

Assist the Superintendent and Principals with Curriculum Review Processes

Coordination of Curriculum Review/Data Analysis for Curricular Needs

Coordination of Committee Reviews

Implementation and evaluation of pilot programs

Presentations to all stakeholders

Coordination and coaching capacity building for staff implementation of new curriculum

Ongoing assessment of curriculum fidelity in classroom implementation

Ongoing Learning Data review to determine: Remediation of learning needs/identification of MTSS gaps in framework Supplemental tools and materials

Collaboration with Superintendent and JCISD IT Dept. to maintain current data warehouse

SWIS Facilitator for the District

Munetrix

NWEA/MStep/PSAT/SAT/WIN Work Readiness Assessment/SAEBRS/MiPhy/MiVoice

EWIMS reporting and intervention Coordination

Analyze, Evaluate and Disseminate all Assessment results

Maintain and update the annual assessment calendar

Coach Principals and Staff to interpret and implement aligned strategies based upon MTSS Framework

Collaborate with Superintendent to coordinate MICIP Processes

Liaison to all stakeholder groups and DOE State reporting processes

District MICIP team work

Collaboration with teaching staff to develop goals, data story, data collection analysis and continuous improvement protocols

Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.
