Position Details
The Position
The qualified candidate will support student growth in Physical Education through the use of research-based, highly effective instructional practices which promote interactive learning and student engagement. They will meet the needs of each student by building trusting and caring relationships, understanding and implementing best practices, creating and utilizing systems of intervention, support, and differentiated instruction, along with using a variety of instructional strategies. They hold themselves to the highest ethical standards and practice total transparency in all communications. The candidate must be adept with technology and ready to consider emergent techniques to enhance student achievement.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College/University.
Valid Michigan Teaching Certification.
Michigan Teacher Endorsement of MC, MB and/or MX.
Positive interpersonal skills with willingness to collaborate.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Content area expertise.
Knowledge of MTSS Framework.
Strong organizational skills including the ability to be detail oriented.
Job Summary
Implement Physical Education curriculum, following the State standards.
Design and utilize creative and engaging lesson plans.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
Assess students using both formative and summative assessments.
Monitor and evaluate student progress.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each learner.
Develop and implement strategies of interventions for individual students.
Establish and consistently implement positive classroom management strategies while promoting a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for each learner.
Utilize progress monitoring.
Maintain accurate and complete student records.
Establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with all staff, students, and parents.
