Middle School Girls Basketball Coach Posted: March 23, 2026

Prairie View Middle School is seeking a positive and dedicated Junior High Boys Basketball Coach to lead and develop student-athletes at the middle school level. This position focuses on teaching fundamental skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and preparing players for the high school program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct daily practices focused on fundamental skill development
  • Teach basic offensive and defensive concepts appropriate for junior high athletes
  • Foster a positive team culture emphasizing effort, respect, and sportsmanship
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities
  • Prepare the team for competition, including game strategy and player rotations
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff
  • Ensure compliance with school and district policies
  • Assist with equipment management and gym setup

Zone 2 Grades 6, 7, 8

Additional Information Qualifications

  • Previous basketball coaching or playing experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals
  • Ability to work with and motivate middle school-aged students
  • Positive role model with strong communication and leadership skills
  • Must pass background check and meet district hiring requirements
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
