The Middle School Football Coach is responsible for introducing and developing student-athletes in the fundamentals of football while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. The coach will create a positive and safe environment that emphasizes skill development, character, effort, and preparation for future participation in the Weyauwega-Fremont Football Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct practices that focus on football fundamentals, player safety, and skill development.
- Teach age-appropriate offensive, defensive, and special teams concepts.
- Promote sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, discipline, and accountability among student-athletes.
- Ensure a safe and positive learning environment during all practices, games, transportation, and team activities.
- Teach proper tackling, blocking, and football techniques consistent with current safety standards.
- Encourage participation, effort, and personal improvement while developing a love for the game.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school staff, and administration.
- Work collaboratively with other middle school and high school football coaches to maintain consistency throughout the football program.
- Monitor and maintain football equipment and uniforms.
- Attend coaches'' meetings, athletic department meetings, and required trainings.
- Follow all district policies, conference regulations, and WIAA guidelines.
- Promote academic success and positive behavior in school.
- Assist with game management responsibilities and supervision of student-athletes before, during, and after contests.
