Position: Middle School ELA Teacher

OBJECTIVE
An English Language Arts ELA teacher instructs students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, focusing on literature, composition, and critical analysis. Key responsibilities include:
- Creating lesson plans
- Implementing curriculum
- Assessing student progress
- Managing classroom behavior
- Fostering a positive learning environment to improve literacy skills across various proficiency levels.
- Teachers are required to attend after-school meetings, training, and tutorials as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Curriculum Planning & Instruction
• Develop and deliver engaging standards-based lesson plans for reading, writing, and literature.
• Teach grammar, vocabulary, critical thinking, and composition, tailoring methods to diverse learning styles.
- Skill Development
• Teach grammar, vocabulary, critical thinking, and composition, tailoring methods to diverse learning styles.
• Assess and evaluate student progress to adjust instruction.
- Assessment & Evaluation
• Grade assignments
• Administer tests and monitor student progress to adjust instruction.
- Classroom Management
• Maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.

• Collaborate with colleagues
• Communicate with parents regarding student performance

• Utilize various literary resources and technology to enhance student learning.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
- Required Bachelors degree in English Education or related field.
- Preferred Valid Texas State Teaching License.
