Middle School Dance Coach

Reports To: Middle School Administration

Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
  • Provide training direction, encouragement, and motivation in order to prepare participants for competitive events.
  • Identify and recruit potential participants.
  • Plan strategies and choose team members for events.
  • Adjust coaching techniques, based on the strengths and weaknesses of participants.
  • Keep records of participant and team.
  • Instruct individuals or groups in rules, strategies, and performance principles.
  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses to develop strategies.
  • Evaluate participants skills and review performance records to determine their potential in a particular area of the activity.
  • Keep abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to their activity.
  • Monitor the use of equipment, including explaining and demonstrating the use of equipment to ensure safe and proper use.
  • Develop and arrange competition schedules and programs.
  • Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations.
  • Serve as organizer, leader, and instructor.
  • Arrange and conduct activities, such as camps, skill-improvement courses, and clinics.
  • Select, acquire, store, and issue equipment and other materials as necessary.

 

Performance Evaluation and Term of Employment:

  • Performance will be evaluated by middle school administration.
  • Term of Employment: A seasonal position.
