IN SCHOOL SUSPENSION (BIP) SUPERVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: In-School Suspension (BIP) Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A.A. Degree or 48 hours of college credit
  • Substitute Certification from Wyoming PTSB
  • Preferred Training, but not required: experience in the use of behavior management techniques with adolescents
  • Ability to establish strong, positive rapport with adolescents

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: The In School Suspension staff member will implement an alternative program which provides a structured environment for those students who are in continual violation of school policy. The alternative program is designed to assist these students with developing self-management skills and strategies.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Implement the Alternative In School Suspension Program.

  2. Assist in development of an individualized behavior program for students assigned to

the program. These individualized behavior programs are designed to remediate

problematic behavior and develop appropriate self-management skills.

  1. Implement students' individualize behavior program.

  2. Maintain and assist in the analysis of data and records on students as they progress

through the alternative program.

  1. Communicates with students, parents, teachers and appropriate school personnel

regarding the student's progress in the program.

  1. Participates in on-going evaluation of the program.

  2. Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method

by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines.

  1. Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.

  2. Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of student activities.

  3. Performs other duties as many, from time to time be assigned by the supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Length of employment to be determined by Supervisor. Classified Position

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support staff.
