Job Summary
Bethany Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic department as a Middle School Assistant Football Coach. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the head coach to develop and implement effective training programs, fostera positive team environment, and promote sportsmanship and teamwork among student-athletes. This full-time position requires a passion for youth sports and a commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, drills, and game strategies.
- Support the overall development of student-athletes in skill acquisition, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Help organize and supervise team activities, including games, practices, and team events.
- Monitor student-athlete academic performance and promote a balance between athletics and academics.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and policies.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the football program.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
- Maintain equipment and facilities in accordance with school policies and regulations.
- Attend coaching clinics and professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.
- Uphold the values and mission of Bethany Middle School and the athletic department.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, particularly at the middle school or high school level, is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all student-athletes.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification prior to the start of the season.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required for practices and games.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to transport student-athletes to events as needed.
