Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Linux Automation Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure
team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux systems
administration, configuration management, and scripting to automate manual processes and
manage a large-scale server environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and automated Linux server infrastructure.
- Create and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Automate repetitive tasks and workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams for continuous integration and deployment
pipelines.
- Ensure system security through patching, configuration, and monitoring.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience with Linux system administration and automation.
- Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and system security.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and version control systems (Git).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- RHCE, LFCS, or similar Linux certifications.
