You will work on projects for some of the biggest names in mission‑critical, higher education, sports, healthcare, grocery, restaurant, and retail sectors.Position OverviewAs a mid‑to‑experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a specialization in HVAC design at Henderson Engineers, you will contribute your expertise to our six markets: Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. You will also support the firm's growing refrigeration design needs and deliver client experiences in collaboration with Henderson Building Solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform calculations and designs of engineering systems, from basic to advanced, with a high degree of independence.Prepare mechanical system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.Review shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.Research and recommend systems or equipment and evaluate product applicability.Assist with developing and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and customers to support business development and pursuit activities.Proactively seek opportunities for continuous learning of industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.May support or be responsible for project coordination activities—managing emails, coordinating scope and schedule, attending client meetings, ensuring project quality, responding to client questions, and coordinating project delivery.Act as a resource for training or assisting others as needed.Required Qualifications – Mid LevelBachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural engineering (preferred) and 3 years of relevant experience, or 5 years without a degree. A Professional Engineering (PE) license may count toward 1 year of direct experience.Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Bluebeam Revu.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and HVAC design software (e.g., IESVE, Trane Trace).Required Qualifications – Experienced LevelBachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural engineering (preferred) and 7 years of relevant experience, or 9 years without a degree.
