QUALIFICATIONS

•      CompTIA Security+ Certification

•      Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server

•      5+ years of experience administering Microsoft Server operating systems

•      Strong experience in developing, maintaining and deploying complex SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages

•      Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) architectures

•      Experience with VM Ware and other virtual environments

•      Understanding of SQL Server replication, clustering, and mirroring

•      Excellent customer service and communication skills

•      Must have an active Secret security clearance

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implementing and maintaining scheduled jobs to ensure optimal performance and integrity of the database systems
  • Adhering to established Configuration Management processes and procedures for system change management
  • Upgrading Microsoft SQL Server instances to latest versions
  • Patching Microsoft SQL Server instances
  • Managing database security
  • Controlling access permissions and privileges
  • Setting up and administering enterprise scale Windows servers\
  • Optimizing Windows applications
  • Developing and maintaining Continuity of Operations documents and materials
  • Building new server instances
  • Promoting applications and data from development, to test, to production environments
  • Monitoring and tuning database performance
  • Working with Software Developers to ensure SQL queries run efficiently
  • Providing technical consultation to Program Managers, Software Developers, Air Force
  • Management, and other customers
  • Performing trend analysis on system performance
  • Recommending configuration changes
  • Participating in planning activities to schedule system upgrades
  • Applying Security Template Implementation Guides (STIGs) as appropriate
