Key Responsibilities
  • Lead planning workshops to define POC scope, objectives, datasets, and success criteria

  • Define retention and records scenarios (triggers, durations, disposition actions, reviewer groups, exceptions)
  • Configure up to four (4) Purview retention policies/labels and one (1) disposition review workflow in the development tenant
  • Validate role/permission model (Compliance Admin, Records Manager, Disposition Reviewer) for configuration and testing
  • Prepare and validate representative POC datasets and content types in selected locations
  • Apply and test existing Information Protection sensitivity labels and DLP policies against the POC dataset
  • Execute and document test cases for retention behavior, disposition processing, and audit/reporting outputs
  • Identify and validate built-in Purview/M365 reporting and audit capabilities for evidence and KPIs
  • Fine-tune configurations based on test results and stakeholder feedback
  • Produce concise as-built documentation, test evidence, and recommendations for broader rollout
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 compliance solutions, including Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management and Records Management
  • Proven experience designing and implementing retention labels/policies and disposition review workflows in Purview
  • Strong working knowledge of SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams content locations and permissions
  • Experience with Microsoft Information Protection sensitivity labels and DLP policies, including interoperability with retention and records workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute test plans, capture evidence, and interpret audit logs and compliance reports in M365
  • Familiarity with M365 admin/compliance roles and least-privilege permission models (Compliance Admin, Records/Information Manager, etc.)
  • Excellent documentation skills for as-built configurations, test results, and operational handoffs
  • Strong stakeholder facilitation skills: ability to run planning sessions, confirm requirements, and present findings/recommendations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft certification in Security, Compliance, or Information Protection (e.g., SC-400, SC-900, MS-102 or similar)
