COMPENSATION:
- 70k- 85k Depending on Experience
- 15% Bonus Eligible
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects and test all incoming raw and packaging
- Responsible for the scientific interpretation and compilation of the data associated with all the testing
- Arrange to have appropriate QA microbiological, incoming raw and packaging material records prepared and maintained.
- Train QA Lab technicians and other team members as needed
- Manages and updates the QA Lab database as required as well as all "on- hold" for raw and packaging material.
- Review issues with QA Manager and the Plant Director to establish corrective action on QA problems connected with daily production goals and results.
- Responsible for the testing of raw materials, finished products and environmental samples.
- Supervises all activities in the assigned area and the employees.

- Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of QA methods and elimination of wasteful practices within department.
- Writes and updates QA Lab, raw and packaging material procedures as needed
- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, quality assurance HACCP/USDA standard and good housekeeping practices.
- Order all supplies needed for the lab and maintain inventory.
- Works with suppliers and customers as needed.
- Perform other duties as required or directed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent is preferred
- 2-4 years of previous supervisory experience in a microbiology lab or QA food-processing environment are required
- Must have knowledge of microbiological and analytical testing methods
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with professionalism, flexibility, initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Must have good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Certification in HACCP, PCQI, GFSI discipline or any Lean Six Sigma a plus.
