Covenant Aviation Security (CAS) is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support security operations at Miami International Airport (MIA). Reporting to the Site Manager, the Assistant Site Manager serves as a key member of the site leadership team and assists in the overall management, administration, compliance, and operational performance of the assigned security program.

This position provides leadership, operational oversight, workforce management, employee development, and administrative support to ensure contractual obligations, customer expectations, and company standards are consistently achieved. The Assistant Site Manager acts on behalf of the Site Manager when required and supports the day-to-day supervision of security personnel and operational activities.

Essential Functions

  • Assist the Site Manager in the day-to-day management and oversight of security operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all post orders, contractual requirements, client expectations, and company policies.
  • Monitor security personnel performance to ensure compliance with operational standards and assigned duties.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to frontline supervisors and security personnel.
  • Assist with workforce scheduling, staffing adjustments, and operational coverage.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, employee development, and performance management activities.
  • Assist in resolving employee concerns, conducting investigations, administering corrective action, and addressing employee relations matters.
  • Support workforce training initiatives and ensure personnel maintain required certifications, qualifications, and operational readiness.
  • Maintain employee records, compliance documentation, and operational reports within company systems.
  • Conduct inspections, observations, and performance reviews to evaluate operational effectiveness and employee performance.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining operational procedures and post orders.
  • Escalate operational, personnel, compliance, or safety concerns to the Site Manager and Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Respond to emergencies, operational disruptions, and critical incidents as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a security environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required credentials, badges, and access privileges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience coaching, developing, and managing employee performance.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and support operational requirements.
  • Availability to respond to operational emergencies twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising contract security operations.
  • Experience working within an airport, transportation, government, military, or critical infrastructure environment.
  • Experience with workforce scheduling, payroll administration, and employee relations.
  • Experience conducting investigations, audits, inspections, or compliance reviews.
  • Experience leading teams in a 24/7 operational environment.

Physical Demands

  • May require standing, sitting, walking for various, possibly extended periods of time.
  • May be required to climb inside and bend under vehicles for vehicle inspections (example, construction dump trucks, etc.).
  • Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned post/duties.
  • Capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion, such as standing or walking/ patrolling for entire shift(s), climbing stairs, running and self-defense.
  • Be able to perform the duties of their position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

Depending upon contract requirements and post locations and assignments, duties may be performed inside or outside with variations of climate control and exposure to elements. Some work requires outside exposure, conducting mobile vehicle patrols, and security at exterior gates, loading docks, and other access points to the Airport Area of Operations (AOA). Temperature fluctuations seasonally vary.
