Job Purpose
This position can be located at various approved Progress Rail facilities.

Work with Progress Rail Power Products distributors, End Customers, Account Managers and cross-functionally within the organization to:
• Maintain thorough understand of Customer requirements, value chains, regulatory and economic factors that impact Customer capital spending plans for new and replacement engines, aftermarket packages, and services;
• Maintain customer relationships and grow key accounts in terms of sold services, aftermarket, and prime engine sales.
• Partner with functional leaders to define and communicate a clear strategic roadmap for the Power Products business.
• Translate corporate strategy into actionable objectives and KPIs for the Power Products business.

Key Job Elements
• Provide product definition for steering of engine development, including:
• Collect voices of Customers and industry partners and translate into functional requirements for new Power Products engines, aftermarket opportunities and sold services;
• Drive customer relationships, manage accounts, develop customer proposals, and maintain relationships;
• Provide customer-focused perspectives for strategic plan development for rail and power products development;
• Support development and continuous improvement of business processes (e.g. Salesforce Probability functionality) and sales tools (e.g., "Total Cost of Ownership" spreadsheet) for rail and marine markets;
• Maintain knowledge of competitive engine manufacturers and their products.
• Facilitate alignment workshops with the dealer network and Engineering to insure integrated execution of Power Products business plan.
• Mentor high-potential talent and develop future leaders.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
• Strong Customer Focus - demonstrated comfort meeting with Customers and industry partners in support of sales efforts, regulatory and service issues;
• Superior communication skills - able to translate Customer and industry partner engine needs into detailed functional requirements into key product requirements;
• Demonstrated capability and success in B2B sales and/or account management in engines, engine aftermarket or related industries;
• Collaborative mindset - builds internal relationships and builds teams as needed to ensure Customer satisfaction and success;
• Innovative problem solver - able to find creative ways to meet Customer needs and turn product and service gaps into opportunities for new products and solutions;
• Strategic thinker with vision - understands how Customer needs, current and future events in energy, transportation, and regulatory policies will shape the EMD engine product line in rail and marine.
• Experience managing diverse teams - knowledge of service and sales support for customers and dealers
Beneficial Qualifications:
• Background or experience with rail engines, rail engine overhaul and maintenance;
• Background in naval architecture or marine engineering, with focus on engines and/or propulsion;
• MBA;
• International Experience in the Marine and/or Rail engine business;
• Product development or marketing experience.

Travel :
• Ability to travel internationally as needed to support sales team, and / or trade shows
