Overview

Responsible for the day-to-day operations and professional practice of the TraumaOne Flight Personnel. The Flight Manager is responsible for: hiring and firing of personnel, periodic employee evaluations, orientation of new employees, performance improvement activities, responsible for cost center(s) budgets, other employees as assigned, managing initial and continuing education programs. The flight manager works collaboratively with the Medical Directors to manage the system for delivery of care.

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or healthcare related field Necessary Skills: 1. Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment. 2. Ability to work in highly stressful situation. 3. Customer relations and organization skills are essential. 4. Adheres to Hospital Policy, and the Florida Department of Emergency Medical Services guidelines in providing patient care. 5. Familiar with Advanced Life Support patient care equipment. 6. Demonstrated knowledge of pathophysiology related to cardiac, pulmonary, renal and neurological systems. Required Licensure/Certifications: -Florida Registered Nurse License -Florida Paramedic Certification -Air Crew Core Curriculum or equivalent as required by F.A.C. 64J-1.005(4) -BLS from the American Heart Association -ACLS Instructor -PALS Instructor -PHTLS Instructors Required Experience: 1-2 years - Supervisory experience in a clinical or emergency service setting -AND- 3-5 years - Aeromedical Transport experience Preferred Experience: N/A Supervision: Supervisory Responsibility: approximately 40 employees Preferred Education: N/A Preferred Licensure/Certifications: -National Registry Paramedic -Emergency Pediatric Care Budgetary Responsibility: Responsible for annual budget of $650K
