Reports to
Operations Manager
Purpose of the job
Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot/diagnose molding machines, equipment, and physical structure of establishment. Assist in developing and implementing cost effective and energy saving solutions for machines, equipment, and site.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing Maintenance Technician Assistant(s) and Maintenance Assistant(s) and their job duties within company guidelines
Issue disciplinary actions (verbal and written) as needed
Perform routine site maintenance and maintenance of molding machines (clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, belts, and other parts of machinery)
Repair and troubleshoot machine problems
Perform electrical and plumbing work as needed
Connect wire(s) to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, and splice wires while meeting all code requirements
Operate cutting torch and/or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs/fixtures, and tools
Fully understand and apply Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
Prepare and submit 1-day/30-day new hire evaluations and probationary/annual performance reviews
Conduct reviews and go over review results with employees
Learn and use IQMS as it applies to job
Attend trainings as needed
Assist the Maintenance Technician Assistant(s) and/or Maintenance Technician(s) in all aspects of maintenance work
Act as a backup for the Maintenance Technician Assistant(s) and/or Maintenance Assistant(s) in their absence
Promote quality and safety
Ensure highest possible product quality and adherence to ISO and/or other standards
Overtime as needed on a project-by-project basis
Perform other job duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by management

Speak, read, and write English to be easily understoodAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or blueprint format Ability to read and understand blueprints/instruction manuals using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulicsExcellent hand/eye coordination: manual dexterity, good visionMust have common senseMust be a fast learner
Automotive knowledge helpfulAbility to use hand and power toolsMust have high mechanical aptitudeMust be able to lift up to 50 lbsForklift certified or have the ability to become forklift certified
