Working Hours: 8am-4pm or 9am-5 pm

Overview:
  • As a Calibration / Metrology & Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all facility instrumentation, measurement, and control systems meet precise calibration and compliance standards.
  • Champion standardized, Lean-based methods while supporting production, quality, and compliance activities across the site. This is a vital position to the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of pharmaceutical manufacturing. This is an onsite position.
 
Typical Accountabilities
  • The Calibration Technician Performs calibrations following approved requirements.
  • Ensures that measurement systems meet accuracy and precision requirements and maintains calibration methodologies, systems, and practices.
  • Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms.
  • Redesigns or adjusts measurement capability to minimize errors.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform calibrations of process instrumentation (such as loops, controllers, recorders, transmitters, balances, and related devices) following approved procedures.
  • Ensure measurement systems meet required accuracy, precision, and compliance with all applicable GMP/cGMP or regulatory standards.
  • Maintain calibration methodologies, documentation, and schedule; plan and execute monthly calibration activities in conjunction with area owners.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, repair, and operational support for facility and production instrumentation or equipment, addressing both electrical/electronic and pneumatic systems.
  • Identify, install, test, and validate new or replacement instrumentation.
  • Redesign or adjust processes to minimize errors and improve measurement reliability; analyze calibration trends for continuous improvement.
  • Lead, support, and document root cause investigations (including writing or assisting with deviation reports, CAPAs, and change controls).
  • Supervise or coordinate with outside contractors on related calibration projects or activities.
  • Write, follow, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for calibration, maintenance, and use of instrumentation.
  • Support life cycle management for all test instruments, including calibration, performance assessments, and upgrades.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a range of process equipment (e.g. heat sealers, mixers, conductivity meters) as needed.
  • Uphold all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
 
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in metrology, or 4 years’ direct metrology/calibration experience in lieu of degree.
  • Thorough familiarity with the analysis, maintenance, and repair of electrical/electronic control systems; working knowledge of pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of basic control system design and fundamental programming.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, installing, and repairing facility instrumentation and electronic systems.
  • Experience with calibration in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, nuclear, aviation, or similar).
