Job Description:


The Merchant Services Small Business Credit Underwriting team is presently seeking candidates who can successfully apply credit knowledge to review and decision new applications or existing credit requests for Merchant Acquiring services. Responsible for reviewing, requesting and/or verifying information for the application to ensure accuracy and completeness, mitigating risk factors according to relevant risk framework(s). Associates may be asked to participate in queue work, initiate outbound calls and manage internal customer/client calls.


Responsibilities:


+ Makes credit request decisions according to relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines.

+ Decisions credit requests within approval authority.

+ Conducts appropriate analyses to decision deals, as applicable.

+ Clearly and professionally communicates with internal colleagues and customers/clients

+ Expands expertise by reviewing policy and procedure thoroughly and actively participating in continuing education sessions

+ Collaborates with peers to manage optimal workflow

+ Identifies and escalates process breakdowns


Required Skills:


+ Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer contact center

+ Experience in Commercial or Small Business lending/underwriting

+ Previous lending experience/lending authority

+ Knowledge of credit reports and bureaus

+ Ability to work effectively in a time sensitive environment

+ Ability to identify and elevate issues to management

+ Professional oral and written communication skills
