Merchandising Assistant (Hybrid Role M-W in office)

The Merchandising Assistant supports the accuracy and integrity of product, pricing, and classification data within assigned categories. This role requires strong attention to detail and growing proficiency in Excel, including tools such as lookups, pivot tables, and other intermediate formulas, as well as working with large datasets. The position offers a great introduction to retail merchandising, working closely with Merchandising Managers in a fun, fast-paced pet supply industry.

This detail-oriented role will help you learn the retail basics while you work together with our Merchandising Managers and Inventory Managers in our fun and fast-paced pet supply industry. As a member of the Merchandising Services team, you will be exposed to many learning experiences as we interact with all areas of the business such as Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance.

The Merchandising Assistant will provide support to the Merchandising team in the areas of item set up, promotions and assortment. Responsibilities include:

• Create, update, and maintain product records across Excel and backend systems, ensuring complete and accurate product descriptions, images, pricing, and attributes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems to support store operations and customer experience.
• Setting up promotions and maintenance.
• Updating Cost / price changes within excel.
• Assisting with reports to obtain sales, inventory turn and margin data.
• Participating in special projects including vendor events/meetings, business reviews and other tasks as assigned.

PAWsome Merchandising Assistant candidates will have:

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• Advanced-Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel, basic retail math and problem solving.
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and on a team.
• Willingness to learn and support the team.
• Enthusiasm for pets!
• Experience with MS Dynamics is a plus.
