Overview:
Dunham’s Sports opened its doors as Dunham’s Bait & Tackle in 1937 in the suburbs of Detroit. During the following years, Dunham’s prospered in the Detroit area as a specialty retailer of sporting goods. In 1985, we began to expand, opened several stores in the Midwest, and are now operating over 265 stores across 25 states.
We are seeking a Merchandise Planner to work out of our headquarters in Troy, MI (In-person not remote or hybrid)
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but not limited to working with the Buyer in a collaborative effort to determining distribution and replenishment quantities of merchandise through quantitative analysis. Additional role includes responsibility for EDI re-buy and management of basics, as well as open to buy reviews vs. trends. Run and analyze merchandise reports to react to current and future business trends. This is a full-time position.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and quantitative ability
- Must have strong spreadsheet and database ability
- Must have very good knowledge of retail math skills
- Quantitative and process curiosity
- Propensity to explore new methods and challenge existing
- Ability to be organized and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Career orientation, self-motivation, follow-through, customer centric and reliability
- Must have strong communication and collaborative skills
- Must be highly motivated and results driven
- 4-year degree preferred or relevant experience. Retail store experience is a plus
- 2+ years of merchandise planning, retail analysis and retail buying
