Join Our Team as a Mental Therapy Aide and Make a Difference in Patients' Lives
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Therapy Aides to join our Bio Behavioral Health Unit. This vital role offers the opportunity to provide direct and indirect patient care in a dynamic and rewarding environment. Required Skills:
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting; 2 years preferred
- Prior inpatient experience highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to perform patient care functions independently in an acute care environment
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Ability to take and record vital signs, assist with physical exams, collect specimens, and monitor patient intake/output
- Strong observational skills to report patient responses and participate in care management
- Capacity to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and interact during activities
- Ability to perform safety checks and implement age-appropriate clinical and psychological interventions
Nice to Have Skills:
- Pediatric experience
- Knowledge of psychiatric care procedures
- Experience working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare certifications are a plus
- At least one year of experience in inpatient behavioral health settings
Other Requirements:
- Availability to work evening shifts, including every other weekend and some holidays
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift
- Valid certification in CPR
- Must demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and participate in unit management activities
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Pay Rate: $60.90
