Ascend Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Full-Time Mental Health Therapist to join our growing outpatient behavioral health team. The therapist will provide individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.


This role focuses on delivering high-quality, ethical, and culturally responsive care while maintaining clinical documentation that meets Medicaid, licensing, and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy to clients across the lifespan

  • Conduct initial assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing treatment interventions

  • Develop and implement clinically appropriate, measurable treatment plans

  • Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record

  • Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as needed

  • Collaborate with psychiatric providers, rehabilitation specialists, and care team members

  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Maryland Medicaid, COMAR regulations, and professional ethical standards

  • Support clients in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and improved functioning

Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health field

  • Active Maryland license or license-eligible (LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, LCPC, etc.)

  • Experience providing psychotherapy services in an outpatient or community setting preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
