SAGE Behavioral Health Unit An extension of Research Psychiatric Center is a 10-bed senior adult unit located at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO. We specialize in acute inpatient treatment for adults age 55 and older who suffer from acute symptoms associated with major mental illness as well as those suffering from organic illness like Dementia. Using a family-centered approach, our unit provides a warm, supportive atmosphere where patients receive individualized care specific to their special needs. Our primary goals are to maintain a safe, secure environment and teach our patients, as well as their families and caregivers, how to cope with behavioral changes that may occur throughout the aging process.
Job Summary and Qualifications The Mental Health Technician delivers high-quality patient-centered care by performing a variety of basic services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Behavioral Health Tech will have an important role in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care that complies with hospital policies and the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel. What You Will Do In This Role You will provide care to and close supervision of our psychiatric patients. You will obtain and record initial and ongoing patient vital signs throughout the cycle of care. You will document and report any physical or behavioral changes at the time of occurrence. You will actively participate as part of the treatment team, following facility policies and procedures.
What Qualifications You Will Need High School Graduate or GED required. An Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. Demonstrated competency in BLS required upon hire and maintained. C.N.A. preferred. Prefer one year of inpatient psychiatric experience. Medical Terminology and clerical background preferred.
