This position is for a Mental Health Counselor in an Adult Acute Care Crisis Stabilization Unit (Inpatient) within a 47-bed unit servicing the adult and geriatric population experiencing mood disorder or thought disorders and other co-occurring mental illnesses.

Full-Time Position. Position includes varied hours/days and includes one weekend day requirement (Saturday). This position will require successful completion of a Level II Background Screening.
Education Essential: Masters
Experience Essential: 1 to 3 years of field-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities The counselor is responsible for the delivery of mental health counseling services, perform individual assessment, treatment planning, individual and family sessions, and group therapy for adults in crisis on the behavioral health unit. Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurses, discharge planners, recreational therapists, and mental health technicians. Counselor will implement appropriate treatment plans based on individuals specific strengths and needs. Clinician will maintain current knowledge of clinical practices.
