Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking a Mental Health Clinician. The Mental Health Clinician will provide comprehensive mental health services to students, supporting their emotional, social, and academic development. This role involves assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with educators, parents, and external mental health professionals to create a supportive and inclusive school environment.Reporting RelationshipThe Mental Health Clinician is a part of the School-Based Youth Services Team.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities & OutcomesConduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of students'' mental health needs.Utilize evidence-based assessment tools and techniques to diagnose and develop treatment plans.Monitor and document students'' progress and adjust interventions as necessary.Facilitate group counseling sessions to address common issues such as anxiety, depression, peer relationships, and stress management.Respond to mental health crises promptly and effectively, providing immediate support and intervention.Develop and implement crisis response plans in collaboration with the school crisis team.Train school staff on recognizing and responding to signs of mental health crises.Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child''s mental health needs and progress.Provide guidance and resources to families to support their child''s mental health and well-being.Makes referrals to program collaborators and other community resources in the area of health, mental health, and substance abuse treatment as indicated.Develops professional relationships on behalf of the program with the wide range of community and hospital-based mental health providers in order to better serve youth.Acts as case manager for youth who are referred to community resources and provides follow-up as necessary.Other duties as assignedQualificationsMaster's degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health disorders, and evidence-based treatment modalities.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, educators, and external agencies.Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in mental health practice.Compensation & BenefitsIn addition to a competitive salary, CCSP offers a full comprehensive benefits plan.Community Charter School of Paterson is an equal-opportunity employer.
