Keep Our Fleet Rolling Safely

Join a team that keeps transportation reliable for students and communities. As a Medium-Duty Fleet Diesel & Electrical Technician, you’ll tackle diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance that ensure every vehicle meets rigorous safety and compliance standards.

A Day in the Shop

  • Morning kickoff: Review work orders, gather parts and tools, and run computer-based diagnostics to pinpoint issues across electrical, HVAC, brake, and powertrain systems.
  • Hands-on repair: Execute repairs on steering, cooling, lubrication, braking systems, drivetrains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and related components in line with all Federal, State/Provincial, and local requirements.
  • Major work, done right: Assist with the rebuilding of engines, transmissions, and differentials as assigned by the manager.
  • Preventive maintenance: Conduct PM inspections, perform test drives to validate driver-reported concerns, and complete post-service road tests to confirm successful repairs.
  • Quality gate: Arrange for required inspections and obtain approvals for major repairs before releasing vehicles.
  • Field support: Respond to road calls and perform on-the-road repairs as assigned.
  • Wrap-up: Document time, parts, and work performed; report additional needed repairs (including those requiring higher-qualification technicians); and maintain a clean, safe, compliant workspace.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient work area that complies with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial, and local guidelines as well as company housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Advise the Lead Technician of any unsafe maintenance conditions, practices, or vehicle abuse.
