Position Overview
Our Medication Aides are detail-oriented professionals with strong knowledge of patient care procedures. Providing excellent resident care is a vital part of this role, and strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver routine daily medications (prescription and non-prescription) to residents
- Coordinate with licensed nurses to assist with medication administration and resident care
- Follow written and verbal medication instructions accurately
- Record medication dosages and administration times
- Observe residents and document changes in condition
- Respond promptly to emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems
- Maintain compliance with facility policies and state regulations
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Must be a Medication Assistant, Certified (MAC)
- Must possess a valid and current Medication Administration certificate for the State of Alabama
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, and long-term care regulations
- Must be at least 20 years of age
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly and disabled
