Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Medical Technologists (MT) to support laboratory operations in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic laboratory tests, ensuring quality control, and supporting accurate and timely patient care decisions.

Schedule

Flexible scheduling options available, including:

  • 3x12-hour shifts, or

  • 7 on / 7 off (combination of 3x12s and 4x10s), or

  • 4x10-hour shifts, four days per week

Candidates must be flexible with days and shift times as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures to identify normal and abnormal components, including blood grouping, typing, compatibility testing, and cell morphology studies

  • Perform, monitor, and review quality control testing; investigate and correct out-of-range results

  • Participate in scheduled and unscheduled instrument maintenance, proficiency testing, and quality data analysis

  • Prepare solutions, reagents, stains, and supplies necessary for testing

  • Review accession logs, reports, and computer-generated data for accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting

  • Ensure laboratory testing environments meet required standards (temperature, humidity, air circulation, specimen integrity, etc.)

  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reports to support patient treatment decisions

  • Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary puncture following all safety and infection control procedures

  • Educate patients and families on specimen collection and aftercare

  • Properly label and process specimens to ensure accurate identification

  • Participate in departmental orientation, training, quality assurance, and continuing education programs

  • Maintain professional competency through required education, staff meetings, and in-service training

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Equipment & Systems

Experience with the following equipment is preferred:

  • Ortho 7600, Ortho 5600, Ortho Vision

  • Sysmex 1000, Sysmex CA600

  • ID Now, Clinitek Advantus

  • MedTox, iStat, Bactec

EMR: RMPS

Requirements

  • Medical Technologist certification (ASCP required)

  • Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience

  • BLS certification

  • Strong understanding of laboratory testing methodologies and quality control procedures

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with laboratory technologies and testing methods

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in test results

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Skilled in handling a wide range of laboratory instruments and equipment
