Work Schedule and Shift Premiums
- Varied days and hours depending on needs of the Laboratory
- 2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour; 3rd shift premium is $3.05/hour; weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour
Requirements
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Masters's degree in medical laboratory technology, clinical laboratory science, chemistry, or biology
- BLS certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital)
Responsibilities
- Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using various analyzer and/or manual methods on specimen sources such as blood, urine, and other body fluids
- Responsible for all regulatory compliance issues necessary for accreditation
- Assess accuracy and validity of obtained test results by applying knowledge of relevant scientific principles, recognize changes that are critical to patient care, identify probable causes for irregular and atypical findings
- Troubleshoot instruments and resolves technical problems, documenting corrective action and initiating remedial action
- Will follow written policies and procedures for a comprehensive quality assurance program, patient test management, quality control, test procedures and policy manuals
