Responsibilities:
In this role the Medical Technologist will perform the following job duties:
- Perform laboratory testing with accuracy and precision specific to the assigned section for the treatment and diagnosis of diseases.
- Enter test results in the laboratory information system accurately and promptly for timely results.
- Document and call all critical values to a Health Care provider.
- Adhere to the clinical laboratory’s quality control policies in performing, resulting, troubleshooting, and documenting all quality control activities. Issues unable to be resolved are reported promptly to Supervisor, Manager or Director.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance and troubleshooting records in order to maintain high quality laboratory service.
- Is capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify a supervisor or director.
- Follow and review general laboratory, safety, and department policies and procedures.
- Provide instruction and training in theory, technical skills, safety protocols, and laboratory procedures to students and employees.
- Perform proficiency testing on external and internal specimens to adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Monitor equipment and supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels for continuous operation and reports all deviations to department supervisor.
- Follow all safety policies including using appropriate PPE.
- Conforms to regulatory requirements with adherence to quality control rules, policies and procedures, as well as the maintenance of equipment.

Hours: 2:00pm-12:30am
Days: Variable days with rotating weekends
Qualifications:
Education/Training
Required: Associate's Degree Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Science
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science
Licensing Requirements
Medical Technologist License in Florida
