Medical Technologist

Lighthouse Lab Services seeks a skilled and motivated Medical Technologist to support daily operations within a fast-growing, high-complexity laboratory. This role will provide testing support including molecular, microbiology, and some chemistry ensuring quality, efficiency, and full compliance with CLIA regulations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on, strong technical expertise, a passion for process improvement, and experience working in high-throughput laboratory environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Performance & Result Integrity

Perform high-complexity testing across multiple departments in accordance with CLIA standards and internal SOPs

• Review, verify, and release patient results with accuracy; serve as the escalation point for complex testing questions and troubleshooting
• Maintain instrumentation through QC, calibration, and routine maintenance, flag issues early and follow through on resolution

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to CLIA, QA, and safety standards in day-to-day bench work
• Maintain accurate documentation, SOP compliance, and data integrity, support inspection readiness and internal audit preparation

Skills & Competencies

• Technical depth across multiple lab disciplines
• Strong troubleshooting instincts; comfortable working through ambiguous problems without waiting for someone to hand you the answer
• Clear communicator who can explain technical issues to colleagues and clinicians alike
• Process-minded
• Calm under pressure and effective when the workload spikes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field
• MT/MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification required
• 1-3+ years of clinical laboratory experience, including high-complexity testing preferably in a microbiology setting
• Solid understanding of CLIA regulations and quality systems

• Hands-on microbiology experience: culture technique, organism identification, susceptibility testing
• Experience with automated and semi-automated instrumentation in a high-throughput setting

Salary and Shift:

• Salary: $29-$34/hour
• Shift: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm
