This Medical Technician position is based in Englewood, FL and sits within a statewide clinical laboratory network that supports more than 250 acute and rehabilitation hospitals, physician practices, surgery centers, and commercial accounts across Florida, including an automated esoteric core laboratory and dedicated histology and microbiology operations.

The role. Working within a hospital-based rapid-response laboratory, the Medical Technician performs accurate and timely analysis of patient specimens, including stat procedures within established turnaround time targets and proficiency testing samples within required timeframes. The technician exercises independent judgment in correlating and interpreting patient results — including delta checks — and is responsible for reviewing pending and result logs to resolve or communicate outstanding workload to relief staff. Quality control procedures are performed per protocol, with appropriate escalation of problem or critical specimens and results. In the absence of a supervisor, the technician assumes departmental responsibility as needed.

What we're looking for.
  • Associate degree (2-year) required; Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technician preferred
  • Active State of Florida Technologist License required
  • Technician licensure in one or more clinical specialty areas required (Generalist licensure highly preferred); eligible specialties include Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology

Schedule. Full-time, night shift with rotating weekends.

Compensation. $22.39 - $26.86/hr
