Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: - Previous travel experience required; no first-time travelers. - Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit required. - Heparin titrated drip experience required.
Special Requests: - Will block if it is possible with staffing.
Unit Details: - Stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience patients, and some medical overflow. - Nurse: patient ratios: day shift 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6. - RNs are required to titrate drips; heparin titrated drips are based on PTT. - High flow for stable COVID only, very rare. - House-wide telemetry; nurses do not need to read their own strips. Phillips monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - Every other holiday. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Float in rotation with the rest of staff. General unit travelers float to general unit floors and take a full team. If floated outside of the general unit in case of urgent need, assignments will be limited to skills they are competent to perform and paired with a nurse trained for that particular unit.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
