Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be proficient with central lines, NG tube management, ostomies, drain management, and reading telemetry strips.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and Foley management preferred.
Unit Details: Multiple specialty Med-Surg unit with a strong surgical focus, including bariatric surgery, urology procedures (TURP, cystoscopy, prostatectomy, CBI), colorectal surgery, vascular surgery (AAA repair, endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass), acute care surgery, gynecological surgery including hysterectomies, plastic surgery/breast reconstruction including mastectomies, Whipple surgery, and Pectus surgery. Cares for cystic fibrosis and medical patients; the hospital does not have a dedicated medical unit. Uses Epic. Assignments are balanced in real time using an acuity tool. Heparin drips are used on the unit; RNs do not titrate drips. Uses CPAP, high flow, and occasional BiPAP; BiPAP-dependent patients are transferred to a higher level of care. Remote telemetry monitoring is used on the unit. Travelers may serve as charge if they have experience.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend, and may be more often if needed. Holidays as needed. No call. Scheduler works to cluster night shifts in 3-in-a-row blocks when possible.
Floating Requirements: Floating to like Med-Surg units between local hospitals, including Meridian Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center, is required. Travelers are first to float. Med-Surg staff float to Med-Surg units when needed. Not super common.
