Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Phoebe Putney and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Phoebe Putney.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Some cardiac skill preferred.

Special Requests: Strict 75-mile radius rule is enforced.

Unit Details: Uses Meditech. Admission hold patients: patients currently in the ED with admission and care orders and no immediate medical bed available. Overflow includes medical observation patients when the observation unit is full. Discharge pending patients: stretcher patients pending transport, pending DME for safe discharge, or pending receipt of indigent medications. All patients will have transport and time arranged prior to transfer to this unit. May also have patients pending dialysis prior to discharge. Will not have patients requiring IV drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, milrinone, dobutamine, insulin, or Vapotherm; inmates; active infections requiring isolation precautions; or PACU or MedOps patients. Admission hold patient care includes IV and PO medication administration as ordered, pending orders, and the admission database. Discharge pending patient care includes medications and pain control with PO orders only, blood sugar checks/treatment, nourishment per diet, assistance with complex toileting needs, and O2 via NC, with the same treatment provided on inpatient units after a discharge order is placed with notification of acute changes. Staffing includes RNs and LPNs. Common med-surg drips may include heparin and lasix. Charge nurse may have to take patients. 1 CNA support. Respiratory equipment includes nasal cannula.

Shift & Scheduling: Mon-Fri. The unit closes Friday at 7P. Holidays only if they fall during the week.

Floating Requirements: Potential float if the census is low; will float to Med Surg Unit. Every other weekend is worked on a different unit.

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
