Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.
• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:
Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac drip experience preferred.
Unit Details: Surgical, orthopedics, urology, and medical patients; adult and geriatric population; hips, shoulders, and knees. Care of post operative and medical patients. RNs are required to titrate drips; heparin based on protocol. Remote telemetry monitoring by the 3P monitor tech 24/7; the Charge RN on 3P reviews 5P strips. Traveler may be asked to fill in the Charge Nurse role; if willing/interested, would be cross trained. Charge nurse has a modified patient assignment, usually 2 patients, and may be free charge if staffing allows. Nurse aides available at a 1:10 ratio; house supervisor 24/7. Uses Cpap, BiPap, IV pumps, pulse oximetry, and sequential compression devices.
Special Requests: Block scheduling allowed as long as needs are met for the unit. Takes requests into consideration.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend with a set rotation of weekends 1 and 3 or weekends 2 and 4. Holiday rotation with core staff. If there long enough, scheduling considers what was worked the previous year so the same holidays are not repeated; manager schedules and can consider preferences.
Floating Requirements: If not needed on 5P, would be required to float to 3P or 4P (M/S) units or to care for patients boarded in the Emergency Department. Boarders are intermixed in ED. Float pool floats first, then will be in rotation.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
