Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• 3 months of travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is required.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Mississippi license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - University of Mississippi Healthcare.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Epic proficiency required; no on-site training. Recent experience at a level 1 trauma or large hospital (500+ beds) facility with a high surgical volume and higher-acuity patients required. Must be comfortable with lines and chest tubes.
Preferred Skills/Experience: At least 1 previous travel assignment with reference highly preferred. Hem/onc and chemotherapy experience preferred.
Required Credentials: ACLS required for charge RNs.
Special Requests: Managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as schedule allows.
Unit Details: Hematology/oncology and chemotherapy patient population. Manager will teach chemo administration. Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 up to 1:6, adjusted down for higher-acuity patients. Heparin drips; amiodarone may be started before transfer to the cardiac unit. All units have telemetry capability; a central monitor station communicates with the RN. CPAP/BiPAP at night with RT support.
Shift & Scheduling: Travelers are expected to fill schedule gaps. Open to every-weekend schedules if requested, but not required. Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month is standard and could be higher to meet department needs. Holidays rotate with regular staff. No call.
Floating Requirements: Within skill set, all staff float between all MedSurg units; higher-acuity patients are assigned to core staff.
7 days maximum time off
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
1 reference required from within the last 3 years
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
