Job Description
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an exciting Potential opportunity and is seeking a dedicated Medical Support Assistant (MSA) to support the Department of Veterans Affairs in Spokane, WA.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring Veterans receive timely access to care while delivering exceptional customer service in a mission-driven healthcare environment.
Monday-Friday | PTO & Sick Time | Federal Holidays off | Medical, dental, vision, 401k
As a Medical Support Assistant, you will serve as a key point of contact for Veterans, helping coordinate appointments, manage consults, and ensure smooth clinic operations.
What You'll Do
Serve as the initial point of contact for Veterans, families, and visitors
Schedule appointments and manage clinic access using VA electronic systems
Maintain and monitor Electronic Wait Lists, consults, and recall lists
Assist Veterans with scheduling and care coordination
Provide timely and professional phone support
Communicate clearly with clinical staff to support patient care
Resolve patient concerns and escalate issues when necessary
Maintain accurate patient information within electronic medical records
Customer Service Standards
Deliver respectful, courteous service to Veterans and staff
Address concerns promptly (initiate within 24 hours)
Assist patients in making informed healthcare decisions
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
Promote a positive image of the VA mission and team
Qualifications
U.S. Residency required
High School Diploma or GED
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Typing speed of 50 WPM or higher
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
Experience working with electronic medical records
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
