Medical Staff Coordinator Lead (Internal Only)

Boulder Community Health is seeking an experienced Medical Staff Coordinator Lead to oversee credentialing, privileging, primary source verification, and medical staff services operations. This key role serves as a subject matter expert and resource for physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), leadership, and regulatory stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards while supporting provider quality, patient safety, and operational excellence.


The Medical Staff Coordinator Lead manages complex credentialing and privileging processes, oversees database integrity and regulatory compliance, supports peer review and competency evaluations, and serves as the primary liaison for the Credentials Committee. This position also leads departmental projects, process improvements, policy development, and change initiatives while collaborating closely with physician leaders, provider enrollment teams, administration, and external partners.


The ideal candidate will bring strong medical staff services experience, exceptional attention to detail, project leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of credentialing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree preferred.

•Certified Professional Credentialing Coordinator (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) required within two years of hire.

•Three to five years of experience in medical services (credentialing, privileging, enrollment, etc.) field required.

•Demonstrated experience in data management in a Medical Staff Department setting required.


Responsibilities

•Lead and manage the credentialing, privileging, reappointment, and primary source verification processes for physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

•Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and medical staff requirements through ongoing monitoring, audits, and reporting.

•Maintain credentialing databases, records, policies, and governance documents to support accurate and compliant medical staff operations.

•Coordinate clinical competency evaluations, peer review activities, and practitioner performance reporting.

•Serve as the primary support for the Credentials Committee, including agenda development, documentation, and records management.

•Collaborate with physician leaders, provider enrollment teams, and key stakeholders to support credentialing, privileging, and provider onboarding processes.

•Lead departmental projects, process improvement initiatives, system optimization efforts, and training activities to enhance operational efficiency and data integrity.

•Manage relationships with external clients, vendors, and delegated credentialing entities while supporting accreditation surveys and regulatory audits.
