Medical Staff Coordinator | PeaceHealth

Full-Time (1.0 FTE) | Days

Pay: $31.60-$47.40/hr

Position Summary

The Medical Staff Coordinator provides administrative and credentialing support to medical staff departments and committees, ensuring compliance with bylaws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements. This role manages physician and advanced practitioner credentialing, supports medical staff leadership, coordinates committee activities, and maintains confidential records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage physician and provider credentialing, privileging, reappointments, and proctoring.
  • Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Support medical staff committees by preparing agendas, recording minutes, and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Serve as a resource on medical staff policies, procedures, and credentialing processes.
  • Analyze credentialing and performance data, identify concerns, and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Maintain provider databases and confidential medical staff records.
  • Assist with accreditation surveys and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise between medical staff, hospital leadership, and legal counsel on sensitive matters.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of accreditation, regulatory, and credentialing standards.
  • Experience working with physicians and senior leadership in sensitive situations.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification.

Preferred

  • 4+ years of medical staff services or healthcare experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
