The Medical Social Consultant will conduct diagnostic assessments and provide evidence-based psychotherapy services for adult patients in the Department of Psychiatry. A strong background in multidisciplinary consultation and evidence-based therapy service delivery is essential. The consultant will also join a productive multidisciplinary team of clinicians dedicated to treating Long Covid.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in a multidisciplinary team by contributing clinical insights and developing individualized or group treatment plans for patients with long covid and those a part of the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program. • Conduct diagnostic assessments to evaluate patients mental health needs. • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy services, e.g. CBT, ACT, DBT, for adult patients in the Department of Psychiatry. • Facilitate care coordination with internal or external providers and patient support system to support treatment plan and patient care. • Provide crisis intervention by conducting risk assessments and developing safety plans as needed.

Administrative Duties

• Attend departmental and clinic required meetings and conferences. • Document and maintain case notes as specified by departmental compliance policies. • Teach and supervise Social Work interns on documentation and clinical skills as needed.
