Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Medical Secretary to join our Rehabilitation Medicine team. The Medical Secretary functions in a supportive role of the healthcare team and is responsible for secretarial and direct patient care duties to ensure the efficient operations for the department. Experience with authorizations recommended.
What will you do:
Performs patient greeting and check in
Manages all incoming calls and provides exceptional customer service in person and over the phone with patient, staff and family members and triaging phone calls as appropriate
Schedules appointments and procedures for exams and regularly communicating with office staff.
Prepares and maintains patient charts and obtains pre-certifications and authorizations for patients' exams.
Explains test procedures to patients and interprets purpose as directed by physician
Maintains proficiency with office computer systems. Performs clerical duties in a fast-paced environment
Supports clinical staff with clerical tasks with positive energy
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree
Medical Administrator Certificate preferred
Minimum of one-year experience in hospital, medical environment, or health related field preferred
Good interpersonal skills, knowledge of outpatient routines/procedures, good judgment appropriate to assigned responsibilities
