Title: Medical Secretary C - Danbury Hospital Anticoagulation Center - Per Diem - Variable 8 hour shifts, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday

Summary: Provides clerical support and maintains an efficiently run department. Enters complete billing information on time for prompt reimbursement from insurance companies.

Responsibilities:

• Enters patient demographic information into registration system, making sure all information is entered for billing purposes.
• Performs reception duties and forwards phone calls to the appropriate party.
• Answers phones by 4th ring using department greeting, records complete messages or sends task to appropriate person in a timely manner.
• Obtains medical records and labs on new patients. Updates information on registration system.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Schedules patient follow-up appointments and testing as ordered by providers at time of check-out.
• Performs orders reconciliation for tests, x-rays, etc. for patients as they come due.
• Demonstrates the ability to use office equipment.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information: Education/Experience Required: High School Diploma/GED, data entry and MS Word. Minimum Experience: three years Desired: Knowledge of insurance and ICD9 coding

Salary Range: $18.13 - $34.50 Hourly
