Job Title: Onsite Medical Representative (Republic, MO)

Job Description

The Onsite Medical Representative supports a safe and healthy workplace by providing first aid care, health guidance, and safety advocacy for associates in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role works closely with the Workplace Health & Safety team to manage on-site medical needs, coordinate workers' compensation and return-to-work programs, and promote injury prevention through education and proactive engagement. The position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for workplace health and wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess and administer first aid to associates for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Refer associates to outside medical providers when care needs exceed on-site capabilities.
  • Minimize the risk of associate injury through ongoing awareness, education, and proactive engagement on the operations floor.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all care provided to associates.
  • Coordinate and maintain workers' compensation and return-to-work programs for associates with work-related injuries.
  • Prepare and submit daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Engage regularly with associates and site leadership on the operations floor to provide coaching on observed at-risk work habits and safe body mechanics.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant medical workspace and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory levels.
  • Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes.
  • Maintain all required first aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support credentials in good standing.
  • Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings and actively contribute to safety discussions and initiatives.
  • Greet and support new hires through safety and wellness orientation and daily one-on-one interactions.
  • Participate in weekly case management review meetings as needed to support injury management and return-to-work planning.
  • Support site safety operations and collaborate with the WHS site manager, WHS specialist, and Injury Prevention Specialist as needed.
  • Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols in accordance with site procedures.
  • Provide effective care delivery during emergencies and assist with emergency response at the site.
  • Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, based on operational needs.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care provider.
  • Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from a Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
  • Ability to assess, triage, and provide first aid care for a variety of injuries and illnesses.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with associates and leadership at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Capability to work independently while collaborating as part of a broader Workplace Health & Safety team.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or the ability to obtain it within three weeks of hire.
  • Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Experience working in an industrial wellness or occupational health program.
  • Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching associates on safe body mechanics.
  • Demonstrated experience working with OSHA regulations and workers' compensation processes.
  • Proficiency in digital record keeping and electronic documentation systems.
  • Recent experience (within the last year or six months) in a military medical role such as Combat Medic, Field Medic, Healthcare Specialist, Hospital Corpsman, or Aerospace Medical Service Technician.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse workforce.
  • Commitment to promoting health, wellness, and safety in the workplace.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site in an industrial operations facility where the Workplace Health & Safety team supports a large, active workforce. The Onsite Medical Representative spends significant time on the operations floor, interacting directly with associates and leadership. The environment includes variable noise levels and areas subject to changing temperatures and weather conditions, particularly in or near loading and delivery areas. The position requires standing and walking for up to 12 hours per shift, frequently climbing and descending stairs (where applicable), and performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 49 pounds and frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching. The work involves using standard medical equipment and supplies, as well as computers and digital systems for documentation and reporting. The schedule may include day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays, providing continuous support to a dynamic, safety-focused operation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
