Job Title: Medical Representative (Fall River, MA)

Job Description

The Workplace Health & Safety team seeks an experienced and dynamic Onsite Medical Representative to support the health, safety, and well-being of associates at a busy facility in Fall River, MA. In this role, you independently assess and administer first aid, guide associates on occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses, and support workers' compensation and return-to-work programs. You collaborate closely with safety leadership, participate in case management reviews and safety committee meetings, and actively promote health and wellness principles on the operations floor.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess injuries and illnesses and provide first aid support to associates, making timely referrals to outside medical providers as necessary.
  • Offer guidance and education to associates on both occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses, advocating health and wellness principles on a daily basis.
  • Minimize the risk of injury through proactive engagement, awareness initiatives, and targeted education on safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all care provided to associates in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and maintain workers' compensation and return-to-work programs for associates with work-related injuries, ensuring smooth case management and communication.
  • Prepare and submit daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports that clearly document care provided, observations, and follow-up actions.
  • Engage regularly with associates and leadership on the operations floor to observe work habits and provide coaching on at-risk behaviors and body mechanics.
  • Maintain a clean, organized medical workspace and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory levels, including ordering and restocking as needed.
  • Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes for associates.
  • Maintain current first aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support credentials in accordance with recognized emergency cardiac care providers.
  • Support and assist with random saliva drug testing protocols in alignment with established procedures.
  • Provide effective care delivery during emergencies and assist with onsite emergency response, coordinating with internal teams and external responders as needed.
  • Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings and participate in weekly case management review meetings as necessary.
  • Greet new hires at the site and engage in daily one-on-one interactions to introduce safety, health, and wellness resources.
  • Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, to meet operational and safety needs.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 49 pounds and frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching as required by the role.
  • Stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts while providing medical and safety support on the operations floor.
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs at sites where stair access is required, while maintaining readiness to respond to incidents.
  • Operate effectively in environments with variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions, including areas such as outside loading departments.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care provider.
  • Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from a Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
  • Ability to obtain adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks if not already certified.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently assess injuries and illnesses and administer appropriate first aid.
  • Capability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation of care.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts and continuously climb and descend stairs where required.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Experience working within an industrial wellness program or similar environment.
  • Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, applying ergonomic principles, and coaching associates on safe body mechanics.
  • Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and workers' compensation processes.
  • Proficiency in digital record keeping and electronic documentation systems.
  • Recent military medical experience within the last year or six months as a Combat Medic, Field Medic, Healthcare Specialist, Hospital Corpsman, or Aerospace Medical Service Technician.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with associates and leadership.
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of safety, health, and wellness in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in a high-volume operations facility in Fall River, MA, where you work closely with workplace health and safety leadership and other safety professionals. You spend significant time on the operations floor interacting with associates and leadership, responding to incidents, and observing work practices. The environment includes variable noise levels and changing temperatures, with some areas such as loading departments located outdoors and subject to weather conditions. The position requires the ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours, frequently lift up to 49 pounds, and regularly push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and climb stairs. Shifts are flexible and may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays to support continuous operations. You use digital systems and Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication, and you work in a clean, organized medical space with well-maintained medical supplies and equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
