LOCATION: Morningside Clinic

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt Full-Time

REPORTS TO: Clinic Manager or Business Office Manager

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Provides a variety of clerical duties in the operation of the medical records department.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

  1. Handles requests and distributes/releases medical records according to established policies and procedures.
  2. Maintains a working knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to medical records.
  3. Prepares charts as needed for review and/or audit and photocopies records when requested, with proper approval.
  4. Scans daily in appropriate sections of patient charts and keeps charts in proper order.
  5. Answers phones, takes messages, and gives routine information in accordance with policies.
  6. Performs related work as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: High School graduation or GED.

Preferred:
