Medical Records Assistant

Job duties:
· Create new medical records and retrieves existing medical records by gathering appropriate record folders and contents.
· Responsible for maintaining the files included in a patient's health information portfolio, including medical history, symptoms, examination results, diagnostic tests, treatment methods, and other services.
· Responsible to ensure files are accurate, filled out properly, organized, and secure.
· Code patients’ medical information for reimbursement purposes.
· Medical record copying
· Scans and sends documents as requested
· Schedules appointments
· Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics
· Manage the charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately
· Electronically send prescriptions in the EHR (Electronic Health Record) to pharmacies.
